Morocco : Getting There

Flying to Morocco from the United States is relatively uncomplicated and largely inexpensive since the surf season overlaps with low season airline travel to Europe (the exception being the Christmas/New Years holidays). Wavehunters can make all necessary arrangements. Royal Air Maroc is our primary carrier offering regular jet service into Agadir. Royal Air Maroc has daily evening flights from JFK to Casablanca and down to Agadir. This makes a relatively easy connecting flight for any discount domestic carrier from anywhere in the US. On the backend of your trip there are midday arrivals back in to JFK, again making for a seamless transition on to a domestic carrier. There are other airlines which service Morocco via Europe including Air France (direct flights from Paris into Agadir) and Iberia Airlines (via Madrid w/connection in Casablanca).

Entry requirements for Americans: United States citizens require a passport w/ at least 3 months validity from the date of arrival, but no visa for a stay of up to three months. For other nationalities, click here to view entry requirements.

No vaccinations are required. The local languages are Arabic and French but English is widely spoken in the surfing zones. Power is 220V AC (same as Southern Europe or Brazil), you’ll need a wattage converter and adapter to run your electronics here. Currency is the Dirham and you’ll need to change your Dollars or Euros into Dirham upon arrival, or you can withdraw Dirham at the ATM machine located in the next village from Taghazoute. Credit cards are not accepted anywhere so bring cash for all your needs.

Taghazout is located approximately 45 minutes NW of the Agadir InternationalAirport and airport greeting and roundtrip transfers are included in ourtour packages.
