Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc., C.S.T. Registration # 2060272-10, is a registered California Seller of Travel and is affiliated with the CarlsonWagonlit international travel network as an IATAN & ARC approved travel agency.

Surf Travel involves inherent risks which come with the sport and which always accompany travel to and within foreign and remote regions, and/or third world countries. Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. is not responsible for accidents or incidents that may occur during such travel, nor for injury, death or dismemberment, nor for loss of material possessions as result of such accidents or incidents.

Deposits: Deposits are absolutely non-refundable. Bookings made within 60 days of departure will require full payment at time of booking. Deposits apply only for bookings made outside 60 days prior to departure.

Payment: Full payment on all Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. tour bookings is required in our offices no later than 60 days prior to departure (90 days on boat charters). Tour bookings made within 60 days of departure (within 90 days on boat charters) require full payment at time of booking.

Airline Tickets, Hotel & Resort Pacakges: may be paid by most major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and for certain items, American Express or Diners club. These items may also be paid by check or money order payable to Wavehunters Surf Travel.

Surf Tours: For tours including live-aboard charters, surf camps and guided surfaris, payment is by check or money order only payable to Wavehunters Surf Travel.

For all bookings inside 30 days of departure, we accept cashier’s check, money order, or cash only. No personal checks accepted inside 30 days.

Credit cards: Cardholders will need to sign a credit card authorization form and the original charge sales slip in order for any credit card sale to be final.

Cancellation Policy: International surf tours, resorts, camps and boat charters are operations for which space is limited and competitive. All Wavehunters foreign suppliers are prepaid in 30- 90 days prior to departure so that they may begin provisioning for your tour. All tour payments and deposits are non-refundable. Rainchecks will be considered on a case by case basis if sufficient notice (at least 7 days prior to trip) was received of cancellation. There are no refunds or partial refunds given for early departures from a tour or early checkouts from a resort, hotel or surf camp. There are absolutely no refunds given for reasons pertaining to poor surf or inclement weather. There are absolutely no refunds given for reasons pertaining to a global, national, or provincial political situation that does not directly pose a security threat to the safe operations of the tour in the specific region. Travel insurance is highly recommended with all tours.

Documents: US Passports valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure are mandatory for US citizens when traveling to all foreign countries. The exception is Mexico where a valid drivers license can be combined with one of the following: original birth certificate w/ seal, US military ID, or notarized affidavit of citizenship. Visas are mandatory for travel to Australia & Brazil.

Airline tickets: By nature, the cheapest airline tickets are also the most restrictive. Most tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. In conjunction with many of its tours, Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. sells bulk or wholesale tickets, which in addition to being both non-refundable and non-transferable are also non-changeable. Wavehunters recommends purchasing travel insurance in order to protect yourself should you have purchased non-refundable tickets and need to cancel your trip for an unforeseen medical reason.

Agency Service fees: As of March 2002, most major airlines no longer pay travel agent commissions. Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. assesses a $25 per passenger agency service fee on any air booking sold in conjunction with a tour. The fee is $45 per passenger on any air booking sold without a tour. For ticket exchanges, refunds or prepaid tickets the fee is $50 per passenger. A $200 service fee applies on Round the World tickets.

Land-Only Booking Fee: Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. assesses a $30 land-only booking fee on any tour booked without airfare.

Surfboards: Many airlines charge excess baggage fees for surfboards and require the traveler to sign a damage waiver. Airlines may charge at times per board as opposed to per bag. They may also charge extra for longboards, or boardbags over 9ft or 70lbs, as well as for hard cases. Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. is not responsible for airline board fees or baggage policies. Some airlines have embargos meaning they do not allow surfboards at all on the plane during select times of the year to select cities. Please inquire with Wavehunters for more information and to ensure that you are booked on a "surf-friendly" airline.

Travel Insurance: Wavehunters Surf Travel, Inc. offers travel insurance through Access America/Carlson Wagonlit, which includes coverage for the following: trip cancellation & interruption, baggage delay, baggage coverage, travel delay, emergency medical and dental, emergency medical transport & evacuation, and travel accident insurance. This insurance is compulsory for all live-aboard charters and is highly recommended for all international trips.
