CCanoa Resort is a unique surfing, water and adventure sports resort located on San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos island chain off the coast of Ecuador, South America. The Canoa Resort is a private waterfront compound which includes a 7 room fully-staffed villa with Moroccan style architecture, swimming pool & jacuzzi, private restaurant & bar and located right on the "Galapagos Riviera", with 2 world class surfing breaks directly out front across the bay, La Carola and El Canon. Accommodations are 3-star rustic, ideal for surfers and adventure travelers seeking comfortable and practical accommodations in a naturalistic setting.

Canoa Resort is a 7 suite waterfront villa and private compound. All 7 guest rooms are fully private with locking doors to courtyard or hotel interior, AC & private bathrooms w/ hot and cold water. All rooms have ocean or pool views (5 ocean view, 2 pool view). The resort has a Swimming Pool, restaurant, full-service bar, massage room, and lounge area w/ LCD T.V, DVD.

Your hosts are Eddie Salzar and Oswaldo de La Torre, aka "Teclas". Ecuadorian born Eddie Salazar is an accomplished former competitive surfer as well as a Dive Master who formerly worked on Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Eddie spends his offseasons with his family in Denmark, and is trilingual in Spanish, English and Danish. Teclas is a Galapagos local and is a formidable captain and waterman, and a really good guy to know on the island.

Eddie and his attentive staff will cater to your every need at the islands and make sure every day is fun and adventure packed whether it be spent surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, or undertaking one of the Galapagos's marine or terrestrial excursions to view its unique indigenous wildlife.

Internet: There is an internet café next door to Canoa Resort with a basic, slow dialup connection. Unfortunately broadband internet service is not available in the islands due to their extremely remote location and limitations of infrastructure.



Guest Room Description:

All rooms are fully air-conditioned w/private bathrooms. Bathroom towels, bed linens, and daily maid service provided. (Beach towels not supplied).

Suite#2: 2nd level Upstairs Suite w/Balcony. Ocean and pool views. 1 queen bed + 1 twin bed.

Canoa Resort's restaurant features a different menu every day based on traditional Galapagos cuisine: fish, lobster, shrimp, as well as chicken, meats, fresh vegetables and fruits. Vegetarian meals available. Canoa Resort's Bar serves complimentary non-alcoholic beverages such as water, juice, and soft drinks. There is a charge for all alcoholic beverages which include beer, wine, as well as cocktails such as margaritas, rum and cokes, piñas coladas and caipirinhas.

Canoa Surf Resort's hardware includes a 30ft Speedboat "Wavehunter 1" w/ 2 x 85hp motor, w/ GPS, radio, lifevests, refrigerator, and toilet. The boat is docked 50 meters from the house in the bay for fast access to surf breaks. A second panga boat is now available for backup in order to split up guests into smaller tactical groups according to desired surf break or activities.



Staff includes resort manager Eddie Salazar, head surf guide & Wavehunter boat captain Oswaldo de la Torre or "Teclas", gourmet chef Pepe, and bartender. Other local staff include boatmen, gardeners and maids.

Canoa Surf Resort's staff will ensure that all your needs are satisfied while at the Galapagos and will arrange all expeditions outside the resort for surfing, marine tours, adventure tours or island exploration. Scuba diving is offered through a certified Padi Dive Operator at additional cost, though we often use our own boats for diving and snorkeling excursions.
