Dear Henry & Sean @Wavehunters,

Wanted to write and let you know what a great trip I/we had in the Mentawais on the Bintang during the 19th - 30th of July. Daryl is a fantastic skipper and the crew, Ben, Brenden, and Pat went out of their way to make us feel at home. The Bintang is the BEST boat in the Mentawais because of its size and the knowledgeable skipper and ripping crew that make it THE BOAT to book!! (We were all looking forward to having a speed boat but when Daryl told us that it was still in harbor and not yet ready to go but that we'd get "free" Bintangs instead. We were pretty happy with this trade-off).

We were lucky to have had two descent sized swells during this time. We had E-Bay with solid 4-7 ft. and Pit-Stops the best the crew has seen it for years. Missed out on Nipussi's, Rags, Thunders (will try to get it next trip), but got good HT's and "classic" Maccas with off shore conditions for about 5 hours.

I wanted to thank everyone at Wavehunters/Singapore Airlines for making it possible for me to visit the Mentawais Islands. Got some of the best barrels of my life and will definitely be planning on heading back there in the future. Thanks again to Henry and Sean at Wavehunters for making this trip come together!!

P.S. Will send some photos, etc. when I get everything developed.

Sean and the Wavehunters crew,

Thanks for helping us coordinate our trip to the Mentawais. Everything went as planned, from the flight transfers to the boat accommodations.

My trip to the Mentawais aboard the Bintang was amongst my most unforgetable experiences. We definitely got our moneys worth and it was everything we expected and whole lot more. After our first session at 4-6 E-bay most of us scored the best left barrels of our life. Thinking that we just caught some of the best waves of our lives on day one, we knew that this would be tough to top. The crew reassured us that we wouldn't be disappointed in the days to come after that session. They were right. Hollow Trees, Lances left, Macaronis, to name a few were absolutely amazing. To sum it up, we scored epic waves.

Thanks to Captain Darryl Robinson and his crew, we seemed to be at the right spots at the right time. His knowledge of the Mentawais allowed us to surf spots where the swell direction was just right and the winds were offshore. There were a couple of sessions were we were the only boat at the break.

The conditions amongst the Bintang were 5 star. The boat was very spacious and well maintained and the crew was awesome. We literally ate like kings and the food prepared by his crew was 5 star. Darryl and his crew were incredibly friendly and professional making the entire trip very memorable.

I will definitely be back aboard the Bintang or Navistar in the future.

Aloha,
Chad Okuhara

Subject: Thanks a bunch Sean and the Wavehunters Crew, I just wanted to say thanks for a wonderful trip. Everything you guys planned for us went smoothly. Your operation certainly saved us a lot of headaches in planning our vacation. Our stay aboard the Bintang was top notch. Darryl and his crew were very professional and knowledgeable but also quite personable. The food was top notch too. They kept us entertained both in and out of the water. It really felt like we got out money's worth out of the charter when we'd pull up at the various surf spots and talk to other surfers who seemed to be crammed onto smaller boats. I'd say that the Bintang is the envy of the Mentawais. The waves were awesome. We got EBay and Maccaroni's with 6 foot+ (Hawaiian) sets. The waves only let up on the 9th day and by then we were ready for a break. I look forward to doing business with you and the Bintang again in the future. Hopefully there'll be some better flight options out of HNL by then.

Aloha,
Damon Schmidt

Hey Sean,

Just got back. The waves were sick. Epic Telies and barreling Macers double ups. The
Bingtang was great. Very spacious, clean and all the plumbing worked. Daryl and Yanti were very professional. My Silkair flight back to Singapore from Padang was cancelled and Yanti got me an alternate Mandala flight into Jakarta then SIA to Singapore. I didn't have to ask and there was no charge. This was beyond the call of duty and I really appreciated it.
I didn't have to worry while I was out about how I would I would make my Singapore connection.

The Bintang was better than I expected. After my September trip on another
boat this was a real pleasure crusie. Of course it goes without saying that Daryl is a great captain. He is always on the job and I felt very confident in his seamanship. Daryl worked very hard to help everyone get their waves and have a good trip. He got us to the waves with the best conditions at the best time.

I'm planning to go back in April either on the Bintang or Navistar. I'll be in touch after the new year.

Thanks again for all your hard work. You guys are the best as are the
Bingtang and Navistar.

Hello Henry,

just watnted to send you a note with regards to my trip you set up on the Navistar. First let me say that Daryl and his sons are real characters, and made me feel right at home as soon as I met them. The boat was great and Ashton and Carret skippered with experience beyond their years. We were at the right place at the right time for optimum water time and although I backed out of a few waves I shouldn't have I had fun every day that I was out there. The other guys on the boat were very cool and I was pleased with the entire trip. I would recommend the boat to anyone thinking of traveling there and hope to be able to travel on their new boat when it is up and running next year. Thanks for your help Henry in setting all this up and also checking in after all the events that had happend in the states previous to the trip.

aloha,

Scott Wangsness.
