Without question, the Galapagos islands provide surprise and surpass expectations. The vivid snapshots still fire in my memory of what was an amazing trip. Comparable to Indo in it's own way. What will keep me going back in lieu of new destinations is the Canoa Surf Resort. Eddy's hospitality and generosity is without question unsurpassed. It was him and his appreciation for good things for all that has us already planning a return. Send more people there...but not too many. Thanks so much for your recommendation on the Galapagos. Till the next time.

Just wanted to give you a follow up on our Galapagos trip. It can be summed up as The Best Vacation Of My Life!!! The travel arrangements were perfect and went without flaw (other than a slight airline delay here or there, and that is to be expected nowadays). The accomodations were fantastic. The concept of the "hostels" and "guest houses" is great. It seems to put you more in touch with the actual people and culture than staying in some big tourist hotel. We loved it!!! I don't know how the surf was by their standards, but it was EPIC to this Texan, and I had the surf sessions of my lifetime. As for our host, Eddie Salazar, I will say that his gracious hospitality is unmatched by anybody at any place I have ever travelled. He opened his home to us and made us feel welcome from the very start. Every meal was like a Thanksgiving family style dinner, with everyone sitting at the same table sharing stories and making new friends. A much different vibe than I have experienced on other trips, and a very welcome feeling. Eddie did a fantastic job of making sure we were on surf, as well as coordinating the other activities (hiking, snorkeling, etc.). He also arranged my scuba activities, which turned out to be the best dive of my lifetime (and I have done as much dive travel as surf travel). I could go on for hours about this trip, but suffice it to say that I highly recommend this package to any travelling surfer, but I must warn you; there is magic in that place that I can only figure comes from the beautiful interaction of all the life there among itself and each other - animal with animal, animal with people, people with people. I returned from this trip with some different views of some things and with a desire to try to be a better person, one with more tolerance and understanding for my fellow man. That may not have been included in the original package, but it is definitely considered an extra and unexpected gift by this traveller. Like I said, there is magic in that place. As far as Wavehunters, you have made a customer for life for my exotic surf travel. I can't wait to book another trip with you. Till then, may the swell hold true for you and I look forward to a surf session with you someday.

Sincerely,
Duke Patterson

Henry,
I have be meaning to write you a note to tell you what a great time We had in the Galapagos. Eddie runs an excellent operation. The accommodations, food, and surf access were all outstanding. While he was a little surprised at first when three surf starved New Englanders demanded to be taken to the reef at 6am when the wave were only 1-2 feet. We all Soon got in a rhythm. While the surf was not epic. We were able to surf everyday. Many days 4-5 feet. A few bigger days at the end of the trip. By the way, the transfer agents in Guayaquil took excellent care of Us as well.

Eric
