The Zancudo Lodge is located on the scenic pacific coast of Costa Rica, on the bay of Golfo Dulce 4 miles from Golfito. The Golfito bay area of the Pacific Ocean is world renowned for its excellent saltwater fishing. Our property is ideally bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Sabalo River on the east.
On our grounds, you will find an array of tropical fruits, such as mango, pineapple, star fruit, coconut and papaya, which is served fresh daily at our restaurant and bar. Our chef prepares delicious culinary meals, catering to all preferences, and we pride ourselves on the use of the finest and freshest local ingredients to satisfy the most discriminating palate.
Who should go here?
Surfers: Surfers of any ability from beginner to advanced. (Lacks really critical, hollow or dangerous waves for pros).
Fisherman: All types. Inshore, offshore or freshwater. If you are a sportsfisherman you have probably already heard of The Zancudo Lodge in sportsfishing circles.
Adventure-seekers: The eco-tourism in this part of Costa Rica is raw and pristine, offering an abundance of natural beauty, wildlife and ecosystems that you won’t find in Manuel Antonio that is being consumed by land developers. See “Eco Tours and Activities” for more info.
Couples and Families w/older children: Good for adventuresome couples and families. The activities and tours are not designed for small kids who might be better served by an active kids program at a larger resort, but for older kids above 10 or teens they are quite suitable.
Who should not go here?
High maintenance clientele looking for a 4-star or 5-star resort experience (Marriott or 4Seasons). Zancudo lodge is a well-managed, well-designed and clean sportsfishing/surfing/adventure lodge with excellent service, tasty fresh food, full bar service, and good, functional facilities. There is no golf, tennis, spa/fitness, room service, etc…
